An exuberant musical set in the sultry Caribbean and it has the gentle patois of the islands and is loosely based on the fairytale "The Little Mermaid".  It tells the story of TiMoune, a peasant girl who rescues, nurses, and falls in love with Daniel who is from a wealthy family.  When Daniel is returned to his people, the gods who rule the island guide TiMoune on a quest to test the strength of her love against the powerful forces of prejudice, hatred, and death.  A moving and uplifting piece of musical theater.

10/8/08   - Archives started -

The archive section is now up and the first entry is for Guilty Conscience.  Check out the archive page for credits and production pictures.  I am still looking for pictures and info from any other past productions.  Pictures and programs would be the most helpful.  If you have any of these and don't mind sharing them with the rest of the world, let me know.

10/4/08    -Website updated-

Tell your friends....   The UACT website is finally in the process of a much needed update.  Check out the new '08-'09 Season information and be sure that you have renewed your membership.

As part of the website updates, I am looking to build an archive section.  I am looking for information and pictures from any past shows that UACT has done.  If you happen to have any behind-the-scenes or performance pictures, programs, or posters in electronic form and you don't mind sharing them with us, you can contact me or the UACT Executive Director. Also, feel free to contact us if you have any other inputs or things that you would like to see included here.

Also, coming soon will be an "Opportunities" section.  Here we will list all upcoming auditions and other volunteer opportunities here at UACT and the Betty Long Unruh Theater.  Recently, the UACT board has introduced new incentives for volunteers.  People who are willing to share their time and expertise for the benefit of our local theater can now earn complimentary tickets for the current production.  This is a great opportunity for all involved.  It helps UACT continue to provide quality theater to Douglas County and gives volunteers the chance to possibly learn some new skills, work with some great people, and experience an evening of entertainment.
